The Portuguese State Office, located at 20 Regent Street, London, was the official trade and tourism representation of the Portuguese Government in the United Kingdom. Through this office, Portugal promoted its exports—including canned fish—and tourism, organised exhibitions, distributed promotional literature and advertising, and acted as a liaison between Portuguese exporters and British importers.
